The first were lettered in Latin, now available in other languages too. When not in the native tongue of your surroundings, these mugs are for those that want to be discreet (and geeky) with the messages on their mugs. All cups on this page are the s-sided shape unless custom ordered. Want a size, shape, or color not listed? Custom is always an option, just contact us. The lettering is either matte, "batik'ed" on the mugs with colored glaze, with exception turquoise over black lettering. Check out glaze and clay color inspirations.

Unlike the other message cups on this page, this one is limited in color palette: dark glaze with white pearl collar, the matte word "dissent" being your choice of underlying clay.
There is a character limit in terms of what we can fit on any given drinking vessel, but want a phrase in another language? Have a favorite saying you want on a mug? Want a different shape? Just contact us.

Lettering on pottery is not a new thing, nor was it limited to one or two cultures.
